As a Hunter co-op, you will work with our team of world class engineers and receive experience testing and developing some of the finest automotive testing equipment in the world. Our co-ops are exposed to the total product evolution process and have the opportunity to observe and assist with taking a product from the concept stage to production, including practical exposure to the manufacturing floor. This first-hand experience is invaluable in making decisions about what educational and career paths you may want to pursue.

Work on Interesting and Important Projects

The work we do at Hunter is at the forefront of our industry and you will be helping to develop the next generation of equipment.

Mechanical Engineering

Previous mechanical engineering co-op students have been involved in a variety of projects that included:

 

  • Prototype construction and evaluation
  • Test program development and administration
  • Shop experience, real work experience
  • Minor analysis and engineering calculations
  • Analyzing data and using Microsoft Word and Excel to prepare reports

Electrical Engineering

Previous electrical and computer engineering co-op students have also been involved in a variety of projects:

 

  • Research and evaluation new technologies for use in current and future Hunter products
  • Evaluation of hardware (examples: Google glasses, Microsoft kinect, Microsoft hololens)
  • Creation of prototype software as a result of research
  • Collection and analysis of data from Hunter products being used by our customers

Computer Science

Previous computer science co-op students have been involved in a variety of projects:

 

  • Develop Python tools for downloading, storing, organizing, annotating and using AI data
  • Develop Microsoft Azure tools to selectively find and download data from the Azure data store where multiple SQL databases are involved
  • Improving C++ edge conditions in an existing product by fixing bugs or adding features
  • Investigating 3rd party tools so they can be integrated into Hunter processes

 

Located Just Outside St. Louis

Hunter Engineering Company is located near Lambert International Airport in Bridgeton, Missouri, 20 minutes from downtown St. Louis. There is plenty of affordable housing nearby with easy access to restaurants, shopping, parks, museums, and the St. Louis night life. Come work in a big city with a small town feel!

 

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Cooperative Education Program at Hunter Engineering Company, you must have completed your freshman year of study and maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a four-point scale.
